Futuring

Grading Fox Becomes a Better Person, and School Train?
If the assignment was to create a film production my grading criteria would be different from an assignment where students were simply asked to express in any form a concept/ idea-subject/ topic.
If it was an assignment for a film class…the criteria would be MUCH more detailed and specific to displaying techniques and methods relating to what we learned and practiced in the course.
This could include, cutting in the action, lighting, framing,…
If it was the open assignment…I would create a rubric much like the following
First question is who is the targeted audience?
With this audience in mind,

* Did it reach them (the audience)? Do they understand the message? 1-5
* Is there evidence of a logical progression? 1-5
* Quality of audio/sound: 1-5
* Quality of visual impact: 1-5
* “Special” effects have intention, purpose and are effective: 1-5
* Am I left with a feeling of “hmmm…I got that!”: 1-5
* Storyboard/ thought and planning is evident: 1-5
* Written statement; Why we chose to express our piece through film: 1-5

Impacts on “my classroom”
As a Teacher-facilitator my classroom will be in a constant state of flux. This dynamic environment will be bounce from platforms in the Sitka Spruce canopies to being surrounded by 20 foot swells. Within our learning environment technology will seldom be focal point, yet it will co-exist along side us. The evolutionary potential of the global shift towards technological media, brings me feelings of intrigue and reservation. I recognize that 3 things
1) That media is biased
2) That I am currently empowered by the possibility of coming to my own understanding by recognizing these biases, and furthermore having the resourcefulness of puzzling the sources I chose to trust.
3) That there may be an individual/personal algorithm that takes all of point 2) into consideration, yet every formula is a blueprint and every blue print has gaps, due to its inherent static nature.
Therefore, as the scenario presented in EPIC 2015 unfolds I brace myself for a wave of necessary scrutiny

Sabrina’s piece
Assignment: What is my piece in the puzzle?
Some adults feel that teenagers are don’t fit into society and therefore cause problems such as vandalism and shoplifting. On the flip side, if adolescents recognized that they are each an important piece within their community, there would be more harmony within them, their families and their communities.
Reflect on, where you have come from, where you are and who you are now. Furthermore, consider where you might go in the future.
Express your findings.
